This story is part of a series of features covering MGM x RR1HK Culinary Masters Macau 2024, hosted at MGM COTAI in Macau on 28–30 June 2024.
A joyous long weekend of exclusive culinary and cultural experiences came to a close on Sunday, 30 June, on the final day of MGM x RR1HK Culinary Masters Macau 2024. Chefs, RR1 HK members, VIP guests, and friends old and new came together to share a final repast at Vista, reminiscing over the excitement, indelible tastes, and unforgettable aromas of the previous night’s “Savor 700 Years of Silk Road Flavors: A Gastronomic Odyssey” gala dinner, masterfully executed by a cohort of six cooking greats who came together to honour the influence of the Silk Road on global culinary traditions.
Over luscious plates of eggs Benedict topped with sea urchin and caviar, steamed and fried Chinese dim sum selections, gourmet cold cuts and cheeses, nourishing soup noodles, copious amounts of coffee and tea, and many more international brunch treats, guests reflected on the exciting programme of the past days, from hands-on cooking classes with award-winning chefs Yang Dengquan, Marco Galtarossa, Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam, Sara Aqel, and Garima Arora to explore the depths of Sichuan, Italian, Thai, and Indian cuisine, to intimate tasting masterclasses to discover Chinese teas, Italian wines, and superlative coffee, and a wealth of tours—culinary, urban, and artistic—to dive into the unique character of Macau and the incredible features of MGM COTAI.
Of course, it was the spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime 12-hands gala dinner, orchestrated by chefs Garima Arora, Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam, Marco Galtarossa, Yang Dengquan, Sara Aqel, and Florita Morais Alves, that was the cherry on top of a superlative weekend filled with excitement and adventure. Exclusive experiences like these served as the glue to forge long-lasting bonds between guests, and strengthen the friendships between those sharing unforgettable moments over good food and great wine.
After many heartfelt smiles and goodbyes, guests boarded their respective land, water, and air transports to return home, though not without first making repeated promises to reconvene in Macau in the near future for another memorable and delicious edition of Culinary Masters in Asia.
