Nestled along the enchanting shores of Onna village, Halekulani Okinawa is the latest jewel in Halekulani Hawaiian’s crown. An exquisite beach resort and spa, this is not just a place to stay—it is a transformative experience steeped in serenity and sophistication, wellness and well-being. Spanning more than 32 acres of lush landscapes within the Okinawa Kaigan Quasi-National Park, Halekulani Okinawa is a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Abutting a mile-long coastline, Halekulani Okinawa offers guests sweeping views of crystal-clear waters and pristine sandy beaches. Across 360 meticulously curated accommodations, including 47 luxurious suites and five exclusive villas, each room is a masterpiece of design, embodying the design ethos of “Seven Shades of White” to harmonise with the surroundings and foster an atmosphere of tranquillity for an unforgettable sojourn.

What sets Halekulani Okinawa apart is not only its stunning aesthetics but also its dedication to promoting wellness and longevity. Okinawa, recognised as one of the original “blue zones” in the world, is celebrated for its rich culture and enduring tradition of well-being. In partnership with Blue Zones, Halekulani Okinawa proudly presents Japan’s only Blue Zones Retreat, an exclusive seven-day wellness experience scheduled from 19 to 25 October 2025. It offers participants a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the secrets of how to live well, rooted in the Power 9 principles of longevity and lifestyle habits established by Blue Zones, which include moving naturally, having a sense of purpose, following a plant-based diet, and belonging to a supportive social group, among other qualifiers.

Guests will embark on a transformative journey characterised by self-discovery and intentional living through six immersive modules, including a cooking class specialising in Ryukyu cuisine, sanshin music workshops, and a visit to a UNESCO-recognised awamori distillery. Each activity is designed to foster a meaningful connection to Okinawa’s rich culture, ensuring a holistic experience that transcends typical holiday offerings.

Complementing this wellness initiative is SpaHalekulani, Okinawa’s only five-star spa, where therapies are tailored to individual needs, ensuring a bespoke and rejuvenating experience. SpaHalekulani features five treatment rooms and a bath area drawing from the healing properties of a natural hot spring. Guests can luxuriate in this restorative atmosphere, complemented by a state-of-the-art fitness centre and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Culinary excellence is a cornerstone of the Halekulani Okinawa experience, with four signature restaurants showcasing the finest in gastronomic artistry. Ken Sakamoto, a Kyoto-born chef and owner of the one-Michelin-star restaurant Cenci, will join Shirou as its consulting chef from 1 November 2025. His innovative approach to local ingredients promises to elevate the dining experience, merging French-inspired fine dining with Japanese sensibilities. Halekulani Okinawa’s Japanese restaurant, Aomi, offers modern interpretations of Okinawa’s traditional flavours. On 25 October 2025, Aomi will host “A Feast in the Blue Afterglow,” celebrating Japanese craftsmanship with sake brand Dassai.

Beyond the gourmet offerings, Halekulani Okinawa invites guests to enjoy a variety of dining experiences, from the refined Kingdom to the relaxed House Without a Key, providing the perfect setting for cocktails and light bites. Your culinary journey extends to the Sunset Bar Spectra and a vibrant BBQ area, ensuring diverse options for indulgence and relaxation.

At Halekulani Okinawa, amidst lush landscapes and pristine shores, the essence of Okinawa’s rich cultural heritage and the promise of rejuvenation await.
