Pagani has created a true masterpiece for car enthusiasts with the unveiling of the highly anticipated Utopia Roadster. Since we last spoke to Horacio Pagani, founder of Pagani Automobili, in our exclusive one-on-one interview for Robb Report Hong Kong’s Leaders of Luxury video series, we knew he was working on a new dream machine. Its arrival in Hong Kong has been the talk of the town among petrolheads.
At The Repulse Bay launch event, a cool breeze gently brushed through the fine lines of the Utopia Roadster’s iconic butterfly doors. Its hand-stitched leather interior, featuring rich textures and intricate craftsmanship, feels like a connection to the heart of Italian automaking. While the Utopia Roadster shares the same chassis, engine, and drivetrain as the Utopia Coupé, the key difference is the open-top roof design. Due to this newly introduced element, from straight above, you can look into the cabin’s graceful teardrop shape. From the finely tuned brake callipers to the aluminium rear lights that appear to float in the dark, the leather latch buckles, and the door mirrors that resemble chandeliers, every small detail exudes flawless perfection.
Understanding the essence of the Utopia Roadster means one must first experience its heart: the advanced Pagani V12 engine. Beneath its sleek design lies the soul of a hypercar, where the V12 delivers a driving experience that redefines exhilaration and reveals the artistry of Pagani engineering. The Utopia Roadster’s open-air thrill is enhanced by a balanced chassis, giving the driver smooth handling and stability on the road. The automobile’s performance echoes that of the Utopia Coupé, offering an adrenaline rush without compromising on comfort or craftsmanship.
Like its “sibling,” the Utopia Coupé, the Utopia Roadster keeps the same lightness, weighing just 1,280 kg—a remarkable achievement for a V12-powered hypercar. It is thanks to a newly designed monocoque chassis that boosts rigidity and strength.
However, the real star of innovation is the Pirelli CyberTyre sensor system, which connects the tires and the car in real time for better safety and performance. Each of the 130 Utopia Roadsters produced will be one of a kind, courtesy of a wide range of customisation options that lets every vehicle tell its owner’s unique story.
