Meet the EQS, Mercedes-EQ’s first all-electric luxury saloon. As the first model in the Mercedes-EQ family to be based on the modular architecture for luxury and executive- class electric vehicles, this sleek, avant-garde electric vehicle is a real brand shaper.

More impressive

Comprising two models—the EQS 450+ and Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+, with a newly launched SUV soon to follow in Hong Kong—the phenomenal EQS further raises the bar with its exceptional performance, with the EQS 450+ promising an electric range of up to a stunning 785 kilometres, a top speed of 210 km/h, and a 0–100 km/h acceleration of 6.2 seconds.

Even more impressive is the EQS 53 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. Its powerful electric powertrain is made up of two motors—one at the front axle and the other at the rear axle—to optimally configure drive power in all conditions. With the AMG Dynamic Plus package, drivers can expect a maximum output of up to 567 kilowatts (761 horsepower) in Race Start mode with boost function, and a top speed of 250 km/h. Plus, with a maximum motor torque of 1,020 Nm, the star performer completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds with a battery charge level of at least 80 per cent.

More efficient

The EQS marks the birth of a new generation of batteries with significantly higher energy density. Smart thermal management fuels the powerful 400-volt, 107.8-kWh battery, which can be charged with up to 200 kilowatts at DC quick-charging stations—and the power needed for another 300 kilometres of range can be “topped up” in less than 20 minutes in this case. Also featured in the battery is the marque’s innovative, in-house developed software, with an upgrade-enabled energy management system that remains up to date throughout its life cycle.

More aerodynamic

With a benchmark drag coefficient value from as low as 0.2, the EQS lives up to its reputation as one of the most aerodynamic production cars in the world. Its formidably low drag not only delivers a range advantage of four to five per cent, but also contributes to a quiet running experience with a low wind noise level.

More intelligent

Equipped with up to 350 sensors, which record distances, speeds and accelerations, lighting conditions, precipitation and temperatures, seat occupancy, and even the driver’s blink of an eye—a safety function that the vehicle leverages for microsleep warning— the luxury electric saloon is both intelligent and responsive. Such a wealth of information is processed by algorithm-driven control units that can make decisions at lightning speed. Empowered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the EQS swiftly learns on the job and expands its capabilities based on new experiences.

More personalised

In the interior, the spotlight shines on the trendsetting, futuristic MBUX Hyperscreen, which comes as standard for the EQS 53 4MATIC+ and as an option for the EQS 450+. Spanning horizontally almost across both A-pillars, this large, curved screen unit seamlessly integrates three screens—an LCD driver’s display, a central media display, and a passenger display in OLED technology—under a glass cover.

With this multifunctional MBUX Hyperscreen, everything is personalised to your taste, from infotainment and comfort to vehicle functions. Accessing the most important applications is made easy with Zero Layer, which displays information situationally and contextually on the top level within your field of vision to ensure a safe drive. Further enhancing the EQS experience are the optional power duo of the MBUX Augmented Reality Head-up Display, which shows real- time navigation information, and the MBUX Interior Assistant that registers and interprets the movements of front seat occupants and reacts accordingly.
