A new star is born—or perhaps, a new constellation.

Tiffany & Co. has announced the launch of new pieces from the renowned Apollo collection, originally conceived by the legendary French jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger. Reinterpreting the classic Apollo clip from 1957, this latest offering introduces a sophisticated range of contemporary jewellery that pays homage to the collection’s enduring, ethereal legacy that has limned a narrative inspired by the cosmos.

Schlumberger’s Apollo by Tiffany collection stands as a testament to his artistry, merging expert craftsmanship with innovative design. Each piece draws inspiration from the sun’s eternal power, featuring a striking combination of platinum and 18-carat yellow gold, and the designs are characterised by sculptural rays that radiate from a central point, evoking the dynamic allure of solar flares erupting from the photosphere.

Tiffany & Co.’s exquisite creations exemplify the harmonious blend of sculpture and jewellery, encapsulating the sun’s brilliance while maintaining a distinctly modern aesthetic. Schlumberger’s signature artistry is showcased alongside the American jewellery house’s unwavering commitment to exceptional design. Among the standout pieces—of which there are several—are the Apollo pendant, brooch, and large ring. Each is adorned with pavé diamonds that collectively weigh over six carats. Additionally, the medium-sized offerings, including rings, pendants, and ear clips, continue to impress with their intricate designs.

For a jewellery design house that has been around since 1837, Tiffany & Co.’s collections have stood the test of time, but even in its haloed circles, key pieces by Schlumberger have been of particular interest for serious collectors. After all, he designed special pieces for Hollywood (Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn), society icons (Gloria Vanderbilt and Jackie Kennedy), and royalty (the Duchess of Kent and the Duchess of Windsor). He was also part of the gilded circle of elite designers who added their signature to their creations at Tiffany & Co.—the other three being Paloma Picasso, Elsa Peretti, and Frank Gehry.

When an inspired collection is released or a rare piece goes on auction, headlines are made with alacrity the world over for the rarity, provenance, and artistic merit of the signature pieces that make them such coveted treasures time and again. With this latest manifestation of Schlumberger’s timeless vision, the artistry and craftsmanship are second to none.
