When it comes to protecting and preserving your skin, it’s all about getting into the habit of using effective skincare products early and being consistent to see long-lasting effects. Establishing a routine that you can stick to morning and night is key. Not everyone has the time to complete a full 10-step Korean skincare regime twice a day, but the basics of cleansing, moisturising, and protecting with SPF should always be covered. Of course, padding out your medicine cabinet with top-of-the-line goods never hurts, especially with the advanced leaps that beauty companies are making when it comes to creating potent formulas. Below are some of the newest releases that will make taking care of your skin a breeze.

La Bruket

Nordic wellness has landed. La Bruket brings the regenerative energy of Sweden’s wilderness to Hong Kong in neatly-packaged, delicious-smelling bundles. Swedish spa town Varberg is to thank for this, where co-founders Monica Kylén and Mats Johansson turn to nature and traditional coastal practices to address common skincare concerns.

K11 Musea is the chosen Hong Kong home for the brand—that’s where you’ll find La Bruket’s 273 Rejuvenating Hand Serum ($265), packed with brown algae and hydrating hyaluronic acid, and 246 Restorative Algae Hand Peel (HK$445) for gentle exfoliation. Keep your visage in tip-top shape with the 282 Regenerating Cream (HK$635) and 280 Revitalising Eye Cream (HK$595) with red algae and Nordic cotton.

Aman

Wellness-focused hospitality group Aman launches its second spa and skincare line this season. Produced in Japan in collaboration with beauty and skincare brand Kosé, Aman Essential comprises five products developed for daily use, offering protection from environmental stressors and encouraging deep, lasting hydration.

All of this is achieved through two core ingredients, around which the line is based: the antioxidant ancient purple rice bran and the indigo plant. Indigo, also known in Japan as aizome, traces its popularity as a medicinal herb back to the age of the samurai, where its antibacterial effect on wounds was favoured. A melange of natural additions and actives round out the formulas, such as vitamins C and E, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. Plump and restore your skin with the Skin Activating Toner (US$95) and ensure luminosity with the camellia-oil-based Radiance Face Cream (US$250).

Ole Henriksen

Celebrity-loved Danish skincare expert Ole Henriksen adds to its Strength line with the new HydraBarrier Nourishing Face Oil (HK$495). A powerful blend of triple peptides and Scandinavian cloudberry, lingonberry, and elderberry oils ensures a formidable hydration seal for your skin, minimising wrinkles and fine lines for a smoothening effect. Gentle enough to be used day and night, the face oil can be used with a moisturiser for maximum effect.

Hibernicis

Irish bath and body care brand Hibernicis entered the Hong Kong market only recently in late 2022, but already it is building up a comprehensive line of products that provide relief to very dry skin. Founded by Catherine Logue, who spent more than 30 years in the cosmetics industry, Hibernicis is inspired by the wilderness of the western coast of Ireland, with seaweed as the key ingredient in its naturally-derived formulas.

One of its latest launches, the Flúirse Body Oil (HK$690), is packed with seaweed extracts and essential oils of lavender, geranium, frankincense, and ylang-ylang to deliver nourishment and intense hydration. Simply apply the product after showering and massage into barely damp skin for best results.

Fresh

Retinol is a common ingredient in skin-renewing creams and serums, but it’s potent in large doses and can cause more harm than good if applied incorrectly. Fresh combats this with its naturally derived Black Tea Advanced Age Renewal Cream (HK$850 for 50ml). It performs much like retinol does by visibly reducing wrinkles, but so gently that it can be used twice a day. (Regular retinol products are recommended for once every few days only.)

Black tea and rambutan leaf are the star ingredients that achieve this firming and skin-smoothing effect, while ceramide NP, squalane, and pink porcelain lily round out the moisture-retaining and skin-barrier-strengthening properties of the lightweight cream.

Caudalie

Good things come to those who wait. After 10 years of research, Caudalie, in partnership with genetics expert Dr David Sinclair, discovered that honokiol extract from the magnolia flower has the ability to boost TET enzymes and reverse skin ageing. The Premier Cru collection is the result, and packs a nourishing formula that does everything from reducing fine lines, smoothing wrinkles, and restoring radiance to firming and hydrating the skin.

Caudalie’s new Premier Cru The Rich Cream is selling for HK$950 for 50ml. Eco-friendly refill capsules go for HK$800. Other items in the line include Premier Cru The Cream (HK$950 for 50ml), Premier Cru The Serum (HK$1,000 for 30ml), and Premier Cru The Eye Cream (HK$530 for 15ml), all of which deliver the same powerful nourishing effect.

Kiehl’s

Among Robb Report editors, this long-standing skincare giant remains a firm favourite, garnering repeated mentions on recommended lists for the best eye creams and anti-ageing creams for men. Its bestselling Ultra Facial line is now expanding with the release of the Ultra Facial Advanced Repair Barrier Cream (HK$390), a soothing balm for dry skin that is specially formulated for rapid absorption and instant comfort. Colloidal oatmeal and beta-glucan work together to help retain moisture and repair and strengthen sensitive skin.
