Macau is home to an array of world-famous landmarks—well, its miniature duplicates, if we’re being specific. Now sitting opposite the famed Venetian and Parisian resorts is The Londoner Macao, the latest venture by Sands that injects a distinct British flair into the “Las Vegas of Asia.”

Approximately US$2 billion was spent on construction and refurbishment, transforming the former Sands Cotai Central into a spectacular integrated resort. Robb Report Hong Kong had an inside look at the vast hospitality complex that houses 6,000 rooms across five luxury hotels, multiple health and fitness destinations, a curated selection of boutiques, and over 20 food and beverage venues—including The Huaiyang Garden, recently honoured with a Michelin star.

In signature Macanese lavishness, the rebranded resort is encased in a façade that recalls the Victorian Gothic architecture of the Palace of Westminster. Visitors will be greeted by a true-to-life replica of Big Ben as they approach the glass-covered, Victoria Station-inspired porte cochère. The Londoner Macao pulled out all the stops when it comes to grandeur, with scores of themed features dotted around the venue. Highlights include an original 1966 double-decker bus and a replica of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee coach.

On top of the resort’s facelifts of the Conrad, St Regis, and Sheraton Grand, two bespoke properties have opened their doors—The Londoner Hotel and Londoner Court. Of all the lodgings, you’ll find 14 invitation-only suites on the highest floors of The Londoner Hotel, personally designed by football superstar David Beckham himself in partnership with David Collins Studio.

Meanwhile, the Londoner Court is tailored for a more discreet stay, offering guests a private luxury sanctuary away from the neighbouring venues. Inside are 368 suites ranging in size from one to four bedrooms. Londoner Court immerses guests in a distinguished private residence experience boasting interiors created by the award-winning Steve Leung Design Group.

Bespoke luxury is at the forefront of hospitality at Londoner Court, complementing its palatial interiors with first-class service. Guests will be fully taken care of by Londoner Court’s round-the-clock butler service from the moment they set foot onto local soil till departure. Limousine transfer aside, guests can enjoy services such as an in-suite barista and sommelier.

The Londoner Macao’s unique atmosphere goes beyond sublime suites and elaborate façades, with guests gaining exclusive access to The Club during their stay. Comprised of a refined lounge, a billiards room, an outdoor terrace overlooking the Cotai Strip, and more, The Club embodies a modern recreation of the classic 19th-century gentlemen’s clubs. Currently, guests can enjoy an elegant afternoon tea in the lounge, served encased in a decorated tiffin box, accompanied by live jazz, with more dining options to come.

Within the Londoner Court, three dining outlets encapsulate Macau’s culinary and cultural heritage. The Kensington pairs international and regional cuisines with panoramic views of the Cotai Strip. Authentic Portuguese and contemporary Huaiyang gastronomy are highlighted at Chiado and the one-Michelin-starred Huaiyang Garden, respectively. A newcomer at the table will be the London-style Pub & Grill imagined by Gordon Ramsay, set to open later in 2023.

Now, how to get to The Londoner Macao? Fly straight into Macau International Airport from overseas or berth at Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal, both located under 30 minutes from the resort—wonderfully convenient for travellers who much prefer their destination to the journey.
