If you have ever wanted to stay in an Eartha Kitt-inspired suite or explore Paris in the spirit of Ludwig Bemelmans, here’s your chance: Carlyle & Co—the private members’ club located within Rosewood Hong Kong—has opened its room reservations to non-members on an enquiry basis.
Separate from Rosewood Hong Kong’s own set of rooms and suites and the signature lodges within the Asaya urban wellness retreat, the Carlyle & Co club comprises a total of eight suites for overnight stays. Each is named and designed for a notable personality that has played a role or influenced the history of New York’s legendary Carlyle hotel—the inspiration behind Carlyle & Co in Hong Kong—from soulful crooner Eartha Kitt and celebrated Café Carlyle singer-pianist Bobby Short to maximalist interior designer Dorothy Draper and more, giving guests an opportunity to bask in a slice of Carlyle history and fully embrace the members’ club as a place to gather, connect, and life the good life.
One suite is dedicated to Madeline illustrator and insomniac Ludwig Bemelmans, who glued a map of Paris onto his apartment ceiling and spent sleepless nights tracing its streets with a torch—guests can now do the same at Carlyle & Co, discovering the intricacies of the French capital through a cityscape mural of Paris from the comfort of their bed.
StudioIlse’s Ilse Crawford was the talent tapped to meticulously customise the rooms according to their namesakes, creating a balance between functional, intimate, and comforting while injecting the décor with unique elements to reflect the distinct characters. Sumptuous colours, diverse patterns and textures, and clean silhouettes are bolstered by wide views of Victoria Harbour or the Kowloon cityscape, from up on high on the 54th floor.
It’s not just the themed rooms that guests can look forward to—a stay at Carlyle & Co also means access to the private members’ club and its fabulous facilities, including the unmissable Café Carlyle, the supper club and jazz music venue that puts on a captivating cabaret dining experience rarely seen in Hong Kong in homage to the New York original. Dig into classic American dishes at the Brasserie, all-day international bites at the Gallery and Lounge, and toast to a splendid evening at the Bar with wines from the private cellar.
Club 53 offers a wellness centre, fitness studio, and indoor marble swimming pool in one, while the Reading Room, Library, and Study are open to those looking to unwind with a good book in hand. Need a barber or a tailor? Experts are on hand for a one-stop makeover.
Non-members who are interested in a stay can submit an enquiry to Carlyle & Co. Both Kowloon Peak and Harbour View rooms are available upon request.
