It’s been a season of new drops—that’s an intended pun—from some of the biggest names in the drinks business as anniversaries, collaborations, and special editions have reached our shores to quench every thirst. Some of the listed top-of-the-line names below cost more than liquid gold—and we’re not joking. As we go to publish, gold per ounce stands at HK$20,374 (US$2,622) and there’s a sip of Glenlivet that wishes it were on par.
Hennessy
Leading the charge, Hennessy has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with renowned artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, introducing two stunning XO decanters: the Hennessy XO Masterpiece and the Hennessy XO Limited Edition.
Hennessy’s Masterpiece, a Baccarat crystal design, captures such luminescence with its multi-faceted elegance, while the Limited Edition resembles a vibrant ruby gem in a golden structure, featuring a refillable design reflecting the cognac-maker’s sustainability ethos. This partnership not only builds on Hennessy’s artistic legacy but also pushes the boundaries of luxury spirits, merging fine art with exceptional artistry and craftsmanship. Collectors can now find these exquisite creations at select retailers in Hong Kong.
However, why do just one grand collaboration and release when you can do two in the same season? Indeed, only a few days ago, Hennessy unveiled the Hennessy VSOP Limited Edition by LeBron James, marking an exciting joint project between the iconic cognac brand and the basketball legend. This unique release features a striking design that pays homage to LeBron’s influence both on and off the court, with vibrant purple and orange illustrations adorning the bottle and gift box. Laurent Boillot, CEO of Hennessy, emphasised the shared values of excellence and cultural impact that define this partnership, which has scored so well. It’s available in Hong Kong and Macau from October 2024 onwards.
