As the first of its kind, the three-day Lantau Yacht Club Boat Show held over the first weekend of November has been the talk of the town, especially among luxury charters invested and interested in the finest boats that sail the seven seas.

Under the theme “Festa Nautica,” the showcase presented 14 of the most prestigious brands from around the globe as a veritable smorgasbord of designer decks were parked at the quintessential yacht club of the city. At the opening ceremony, a phalanx of industry leaders arrived to officiate the grand occasion, among them Ivan Lee, executive vice president of operations at HKR International Limited; David Lee, director of Hong Kong property at CITIC Pacific Limited; and Franklin Mak, senior vice president of hospitality operations at HKR International Limited.

Representatives from Princess Yachts, Nextwave Yachting, and Simpson Marine also made their presence felt as honoured guests looped a rope around the ceremonial mooring bollards, symbolising the beginning of the yachting extravaganza.

At every deck, dock, and turn, one after the other, Festa Nautica 2023 offered a curated selection of high-end, elegant vessels represented by seven of the top dealers in the industry: Absolute Marine Limited, Asia Boating Limited, Asia Yachting, Marine Italia Limited, Princess Yachts, Nextwave Yachting, and Simpson Marine. The exceptional yachts were all painstakingly crafted by 14 of the most prestigious brands from around the globe: AB Jet, Absolute, Azimut, Bali, Beneteau, Capoforte, Fountaine Pajot, Invictus, Karnic, Lagoon, Nimbus, Prestige, Princess, and Saxdor.

The buoyant theme that lined the yachts and superyachts was easy to note; only the best in the business were looped into the fold as top-tier brands of irrepressible quality, finesse, and polish—often featured in Robb Report Hong Kong’s Yacht section—were seen swanning into the event. Festa Nautica 2023 offered an unparalleled opportunity for discerning yacht enthusiasts and industry professionals to access to luxury, lifestyle, and design partners who came into the mix. VIP guests where chauffeured into the event by Mercedes-Benz, when guests arrives, there was a dazzling journey of discovery with De Beers diamonds, while many sipped No.3 London Dry Gin or only the finest single malts from a holy trinity of spirits: The Macallan, Highland Park, and The Glenrothes.

A decadent affair to be remembered, Discovery Bay Golf Club offered golf chipping and putting games, food and drink was catered by Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong and Peony Chinese Restaurant, while head and shoulder massages were presented by Spa Botanica to ease into the end of the day.

If you missed Festa Nautica 2023, well, there’s always next year. Watch this space for the next Lantau Yacht Club Boat Show for an unrivalled nautical lifestyle event.
