Since its inception in 2020, Homa Caviar has been rewriting the code for luxury dining experiences by making authentic Iranian caviar accessible to discerning palates. Nestled just outside of Tehran, Homa Caviar’s farm is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Iranian caviar, a delicacy that has long been revered for its unparalleled quality. With a commitment to delivering the freshest harvests directly to your door, Homa Caviar is transforming the way we enjoy this exquisite treat, and we have two young entrepreneurs to thank.
Homa Caviar’s story began with a simple desire: to ensure that familial bonds could be nurtured through shared culinary experiences. Founders Anthony Yuen and Bradley Yih, both 23, recall how the idea fermented early on. Yih’s grandmother cherished genuine Iranian Beluga caviar, a luxury that became increasingly difficult to find as the market was flooded with subpar alternatives. What started as a quest to preserve a treasured family tradition has blossomed into a venture that connects Iran’s finest caviar farms with the sophisticated tastes of modern diners. And it all begins with a memorable name.

“Homa’s name comes from the Iranian myth of the Huma or Homa bird. We wanted to put emphasis on the authenticity of our Iranian caviar. As a way of paying homage to Persian culture, we decided to name the company Homa,” says Yuen, who partnered with his school friend to bring this venture to light. “The Homa is a recurring motif in much of Persian poetry and is said to be a phoenix-like ‘bird of fortune.’ The legend states that the bird never comes to land to rest as it has no legs, so it spends its life flying around spreading luck and joy to anywhere it casts its shadow. Much like the Homa bird, we hope our caviar can be a symbol of fortune and happiness for those who consume, gift, and share it with their loved ones.”
Homa Caviar offers three exceptional varieties: Beluga, Baerii, and Almas. Each caviar type is a testament to Iran’s storied aquatic heritage, meticulously sourced to maintain the authentic flavours that have made Iranian caviar legendary. Beluga caviar, celebrated for its buttery texture and complex, creamy flavour, is a true masterpiece that elevates any meal. Baerii caviar, on the other hand, is known for its robust flavour and crisp finish, making it an ideal introduction for those new to premium caviar. Both varieties come from certified farms in the Caspian Sea, ensuring that every pearl embodies purity and richness.
What sets Homa apart is not just the quality of its products, but also the philosophy behind its operations. By working directly with farms, Homa guarantees that every step—from harvesting to packaging—occurs in the Caspian region to preserve the authenticity of Iranian caviar. Its farm-to-table approach supports local farmers and creates a seamless transition from ocean to plate, with deliveries reaching customers within 48 hours of ordering.
“Caviar has a shelf life of up to 12 months if kept in the correct conditions, but we at Homa value the flavour of our caviar above all else,” explains young Yuen. “For that reason, we self-mandate a six-month best-before date, ensuring that all of our caviar maintains freshness. Furthermore, our sturgeons are raised exclusively in Iran in Caspian waters, [and] only after the harvesting of the roe is completed is the product imported. Conditions of the water surrounding the fish stay consistent and produce that unique flavour which only the waters of the Caspian Sea can provide. You can procure your caviar straight after harvest right off the flight with our pre-order system which is perfect for truly dedicated caviar connoisseurs.”

Homa Caviar’s versatility is another hallmark of its appeal. While traditional pairings like blinis and crème fraîche are always delightful, Homa encourages culinary creativity. Yih’s grandmother taught him that caviar can elevate any meal, and he invites customers to pair it with everything from artisanal bread to local delicacies such as char siu bao.
“Caviar is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and has benefits including improving brain function and skin ageing,” says young Yuen—who does not need to de-age in any measure. “Not to mention, caviar provides such a unique flavour profile, giving any plate of food a kick of umami which pairs beautifully with so many dishes. For high-quality caviar—Beluga specifically—I love to have it on its own as is traditionally done. However, it is such a versatile product that can really go on anything. I like pairing it with seafood pasta as a garnish on top if you are looking to impress people with an easy-to-make meal. We at Homa also love finding new and interesting combinations with caviar like putting it on dim sum.”
Homa’s adventurous spirit transforms ordinary dining into an extraordinary experience, making its caviar not just a luxury item, but an integral part of a vibrant culinary lifestyle. Its upcoming harvest schedule is also a significant aspect of the company’s service. With fresh shipments arriving regularly, aficionados can look forward to enjoying the freshest tins straight from the plane. For those planning larger gatherings or special occasions, Homa’s live shipment schedule makes it easy to secure the finest caviar for any event.
By prioritising the preservation of Iranian caviar’s heritage, Homa Caviar not only brings a taste of opulence to your dining table but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in its production. With Homa, the essence of Iranian luxury is accessible, allowing you to indulge in the finest caviar from the Caspian Sea without the need for extravagant travel. Embrace the art of culinary exploration with Homa Caviar—where every tin tells a story, and every pearl is a celebration of heritage.
