Emirates is poised to enhance its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with the introduction of retrofitted Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, set to debut in Hong Kong later this year on 1 October 2025. An ambitious expansion, this marks a significant milestone in the premium airline’s ongoing retrofit programme, which represents one of the largest of its kind in aviation history; the staggering Emirates investment of HK$39.15 billion is aimed at elevating passenger experiences across its fleet. By the end of 2025, Emirates plans to operate routes to over 70 cities with upgraded aircraft featuring the latest interiors.
Its upgrades will roll out to additional cities, including Bangkok, Nice, and Perth, alongside enhanced services to Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Dublin. Each destination will benefit from the introduction of refurbished interiors, providing a consistent and luxurious experience for travellers. Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, Adnan Kazim, emphasised the importance of this expansion, stating that the newly refurbished aircraft will enable the airline to offer an unparalleled premium onboard experience.

“The latest rollout of refurbished Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s and new A350s offer more opportunities for customers in over 70 dynamic cities and growing economies to enjoy our latest-generation premium onboard experience combined with our award-winning service,” he says. “The redoubling of our refurbishment programme efforts means that by the end of this year, Emirates will have established itself as one of the preeminent industry leaders.”
He noted that the retrofit programme is not just about aesthetics—it is a strategic move to cater to the growing demand for premium travel experiences. Since the inception of the retrofit programme in 2022, Emirates has completed upgrades on 51 aircraft, with plans to refurbish a total of 219. Its meticulous approach involves over 270 engineers working tirelessly to ensure that each aircraft meets the highest standards of quality and comfort.

As frequent flyers know, this is on par with Emirates’ famed reputation—the carrier is frequently listed among one of the best in the world. Just a few months ago, Emirates was voted as the World’s Best Airline by Telegraph Travel, and Robb Report Hong Kong has similarly honoured the airline in our Best in Aviation 2024. In fact, Emirates ended 2024 with a slew of awards that included Best International Airline by Forbes Travel Guide’s Air Travel Awards, and 2025 APEX World Class Airline for delivering outstanding customer service.
Emirates will roll out its refreshed fleet to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Nice, and Perth in the coming months. Passengers in Asia will be among the first few to check out the refurbished A380 with four classes and the latest interiors. As the airline prepares for its next phase of growth, travellers can look forward to a refined experience that embodies the luxury, comfort, and unparalleled services that the brand is known for—be it on land or on air.
